Watercolor Relaxation for a Tired Brain, because We are BETTER WITH ART

This week was hard on my brain. Take time to relax your brain and practice creative self-care with this simple no-pressure watercolor relaxation with me.

Welcome to BETTER WITH ART. I’m Melinda and I’m here to encourage you to reclaim your creativity and practice creative self-care with weekly small art prompts that can be done in an art journal or on paper if you don’t have one.

If you’re looking for an art journal, or in this case the most economical choice set of three, perfect for my simple form of art journaling, click here for what I use in all of my BETTER WITH ART videos.
I also use it for the art journaling groups at the library where I work. I LOVE the paper. It works well with the dry, wet, and layered applications I use it for. If searching for something different than this three-pack, remember the paper needs to be heavyweight and preferably hot-press because although I love the texture of cold-press it’s really hard on markers and pens. This one is 140lb/300gsm.

Any watercolors will work. I find it more difficult to find the Crayola Basic 8, at least a single pack, on Amazon.

Click here for the watercolor brushes I mention in the video but don’t end up using. As I also mention, don’t spend more on things like this just out of the gate, but if you’re ready to take a step up in your watercolor/soft round brushes, these were my step up.

This is the BIC Intensity Permanent Marker Coloring Bundle that contains the metallics and ultra fine used in this video as well as the fines tips I frequently use, just click this sentence.

And these are the black pens (on sale at time of posting).

If you use any of my Amazon links and make a qualifying purchase, I will make a small commission as an Amazon Associate. This does not affect your price, but allows you to support my channel with your purchase, so thanks if you do!
