A Woman Was Sad Yesterday…

A woman was sad yesterday.
She set off into February woods
no coat, no shoes, no socks.
Someone saw, tried to follow, lost her.
Wind chill three degrees, a call to 911.
The weather chased away the helicopter
swallowed her footprints.
The dogs tracked her five miles before
she was found on a road
by someone who lives there,
taken to the hospital
for treatment of hypothermia…
